We provide water storage tanks for residential and commercial properties that need a supplemental water source for NFPA-13D requirements. NFPA-13D Fire Code requires at least a 10-minute water supply for the sprinkler system design flow, with additional requirements based on the local fire authority.
The water supply for NFPA-13 can be an existing municipal or utility water, a water well, rainwater systems, reclaimed water, etc. Pioneer Water Tanks work well to store water in case of an emergency with our full line of fire connections and anti-vortex accessory options.

NFPA 13 Standard for Installation of Sprinkler Systems
The NFPA 13 Standard specifies the proper way to design and install a sprinkler system for a building that has been determined to require a system.
The NFPA Technical Advisory board has stated that the NFPA 13 standard does not apply to the materials or construction of above ground water tanks used for drafting purposes in the case of sprinkler systems (Case # 31873). NFPA 13 does cover:
1.3.1 This standard shall apply to the following:
(1) Character and adequacy of water supplies
(2) Selection of sprinklers
(6) All materials and accessories, including the installation of private fire service mains
